How to reach Bar Harbor on the Maine Coast:  Go North from Boston on the high speed highways the Maine Turnpike.  Boston to Portland Maine is 110 miles north.  From Portland follow Route One to Bucksport and then continue north on route One.  280 miles from Boston,   6 hours
Alternate:  Maine Turnpike to Augusta, Augusta to Bar Harbor
Cadillac Mountain offers a paved road to the top and many hiking trails that go in all directions and connect to other peaks.  
The mountain offers views of the Maine Coast.  It is the highest coastal mountain north of Georgia and the most easterly mountain on the East Coast.

Best Time To Go:  To see the lupines in flower and many other flowering trees and the Blue Poppy, the middle of June just before high season.
How to Reach the Maine Coast  From Boston Go north on Route I-95 to Portsmouth New Hampshire.  and then Maine.  The first coastal town will be Kittery
