Flights To Paris, Air Travel to France

Connections on a Paris Flight  must be realistic.  Leave enough time to go through customs if the flight is not direct.

To pass through an international terminal customs, immigration, and security could require three hours.
.
If you are traveling to Paris from the East Coast or the West Coast of the United States, a good bet is to fly into New York City or other east coast city and then board a non-stop flight to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris where you will go through customs and immigration.

That way you will have no anxiety about making a connection after the customs/immigration check.
Otherwise you might go through Ireland's Shannon or London's Heathrow where you will go through customs and immigration and could be delayed for your flight to Paris.

Information for those Renting a vehicle in Paris
Renting an auto at the airport is an option but driving in Paris is not a good option unless just passing through.
If you are heading to another part of France, the
TGV station at the airport CDG might provide transportation.

  • Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport
The TGV station at terminal 2 serves many destinations with high speed trains including Marseilles, Dijon,  Lyon, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Lillie, Strasbourg, Le Harve, Grenoble, Le mans, Nantes, Nimes, Toulouse,  Valence, and Tours

Air Options:  From Gatwick, a shuttle
for $35. to the Standsted Airport

served by
Ryan Air could result in
significant savings for those with the
stamina to make several plane
changes and a flexible schedule.
  • Ryan Air
For European travelers,
Ryan Air,
serves dozens
of obscure or satellite  European cities
and offers $10 and $15 dollar flights.
They do not serve CDG,  they serve
Beauvais. BVA about 50 miles outside
of Paris.
Bus service from BVA runs to Paris
and cost about 15 Euros.
A flight from London's Standsted to
Marseilles for example recently
listed at 15 Euros ($20 USD)
plus tax  and an additional charge
for luggage which could make the
total cost an attractive $45 USD.
While the price sounds tempting,
the flight has unreserved first come,
first served seating and limited
daily flights.

For independent and flexible
travelers these, airlines are worth
a look but for travelers that need
a level of comfort and a firm
schedule and seat assignment,
these offerings could lead to an
unacceptable level of anxiety.
above All check the final price
after figuring in airport taxes, luggage
charges, and airport transfer.
