To reach White Sands by Air:
Albuquerque New Mexico Airport (ABQ) where rental cars are available.
Go south from Albuquerque to Alamogordo .
On the walk in to the camping area at White Sands National Monument on the half-mile or so trail through the dunes
people become disoriented and believe that they are dying with the heat and the other-worldly sensation of a total white world.

To reach White Sands by Road
White Sands National Monument is 209 miles south of Albuquerque on Route I-25 South and then Routes 380 East and 54 West to Almogordo. Continue south and west on US Route 70 past the Air Force base and watch for the park entrance on your right, White Sands National Monument.
Tent camping is available in the park and also at nearby Oliver Lee State Park.
