Moab Utah, Arches National Park, Delicate Arch Hike
  • Delicate Arch Trail
The trail to Delicate Arch is one of the favorite hikes in the park.  Because of the
intense mid day sun this half-day hike is best done early in  the morning.  The park
entrance is open 24/7 for early hikers who drive in for a pre-dawn hike.

Arches NP
Arches NP is located within a few miles of downtown Moab.  In Moab find shops,
hotels, restaurants, adventure outfitters, and an information/visitors center.  Much of
the village of Moab is given over to support the RV parks, the hiking, biking, rafting,
cliff climbing, camping, and four wheeling activity that draws visitors to the vast
rock playground that is the Moab Valley.
  • Arches NP Camping
For campers there are Tent and RV
sites available in Arches National
Park.
Dump stations are available at the
park and in the town of Moab where
a twenty four hour self-pay station is
$5.
Book a campsite at the
Arches
National parks
visitors center
starting at 7:30 AM. The park gates
are open 24 hours.
The Courthouse Wash hike can be a short
downhill hike to a lower parking lot or a half day
or less, round-trip hike.
Reach the trail head to delicate Arch and other hikes via the good roads that run through Arches
National Park.  The paved roads offer many viewpoints that make it a great place for a drive,
particularly at sunrise or sunset.           6 am sunrise and 8 pm sunset Summer

For beginning hikers or families one of the best hikes in Arches NP is the half-day
trip to
Delicate Arch.
The trail through the eroded landscape of petrified sand dunes and stratified layers of
red offers a great look at the power of nature to shape the rocks through the forces of
wind, uplift, folding, faulting, and earthquake.
The best hike in
Moab Utah for
beginning hikers
will be in Arches

  • Delicate Arch
The Delicate Arch Trail in Moab's Arches National Park offers some great views of
the natural landscape of wind and weather shaped sand dunes and eroded rock.
The views are iconic for photographers and painters.  It is one of premier sightseeing
areas of the Southwest.
Arches National Park offers many arches and rock formations shaped by the
elemental forces of wind and millions of years of sediment that created petrified sand
dunes.  Over the years uplift, folding, faulting, and earthquake have created fantastic
rock formations.   An eroded landscape of petrified sand dunes and stratified layers
of variously colored deposits, mostly red, make the red rock arches and canyons of
the park an inspiring sight.  A paved road through the park and several paved trails
make Arches NP accessible to everyone.
Moab Utah, Arches National Park offers Delicate Arch Hike, a good half
day hike for beginners.
Arches National Park offers many hikes but the hike to Delicate Arch might
be the best half-day hike
to experience the power of Nature to shape the rocks.
